Disconnected

I feel so disconnected from everything. I've been so busy with life since we moved and haven't really had time to do much blogging. Fortunately, one of my stressors is now over with and things will hopefully calm down. I'm hoping to get back to regular blogging and weeklies in the next couple of weeks, so keep a look out. ;)

Musical Wednesday

I'm breaking the mold today, and doing a Musical Wednesday this week.

This lovely group, He Is We, has a new song out called "Happily Ever After". It's a fun song, and it's on my list of top songs right now. :)

Take a listen to the song...

I hope you enjoy!!

Life As of Now...

First off, I would like you all to join me in sending prayers to the victims of the storms that hit Missouri last night. I know it’s not much, but I’m sure they could use a little faith.

Second, I’m happy to announce that I have finally found a background and header that I really like!! I think I’ll keep this one around for awhile. I’m still working on the header, so it’s not up yet, but hopefully it will be by the end of the night.

Third, I feel I need to tell you all about what’s been going on in life outside of blogging…

Last Thursday, Love and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. 3 years! I know that’s really not that long, but that’s a lot for me. We’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that we’re going to get married some day. As for when, you’ll have to take that up with him. The only thing I know for sure is that engagement might or might not happen this year. And I’m okay with that.

This past Saturday, I helped BFF move into her new house. We were able to get everything moved in one load. It took about 4 hours to get the Uhaul loaded, moved, and unloaded, which was nice. She had her furniture delivered to the new house when she bought it, so the only real furniture we had to move were her and her daughter’s beds and dressers and a curio cabinet. The rest of her things were packed in boxes. The house is really nice and since the new furniture was already arranged, it looked like she had been there longer than just Saturday. I’m happy for her. She worked so hard for this and she’s enjoying every minute of it.

Yesterday was a lazy day. I didn’t do much of anything except some homework. Parents went to the store and bought painting supplies and other things, and started painting the family room. The walls of the room are paneling and it makes it look dark. They bought a light beige color to put on the wall and painted the first coat. The room looks so much brighter and bigger! The color looks really nice and once it’s finished the whole room will look better. Maybe before and after pictures to come? We shall see.

Today is Monday, which starts a whole new week of life and blogging, and everything in between. I’m excited for this coming weekend because Goddaughter is turning 2, it’s Memorial Day weekend, which means 3 day weekend for me, and its one week closer to graduating!! YAY!!

Finally, I leave you with this: The prettiest thing you can wear is a smile. :)

Meet Me on Monday

Every Sunday Never Growing Old will post five get to know you questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post and we can all learn a little more about each and every one of us!!

1. What is your favorite bagel flavor? I would have to say that I love Panera's Cinnamon Crunch bagel! They're sooo good and sweet and go great with plain cream cheese! :)
2. If you had an extra $100 right now, what would you spend it on? $100? I would probably spend it on my sister's birthday gifts and my dad's father's day gifts.
3. What is the last thing that you felt guilt about doing? Spending money that I should be saving. I have a habit of buying little things that don't cost much, but when there's a lot of them, the cost can add up!
4. Soft serve ice cream or hand dipped? Soft serve! My favorite soft serve is Dairy Queen!
5. Are you allergic to anything? Not really. I don't have allergy problems in the Spring, I have sinus problems.

Five Question Friday

These questions are hosted by

1. Do you and your spouse go to bed at the same time?

Well, I’m not married and I still live at home, but I do have a boyfriend and we do not go to bed at the same time. I usually call him and tell him goodnight around midnight or so, and he usually goes to bed around 2 or 3 in the morning.

2. A question for the ladies...What kind of facial hair do you like on your man?

Facial doesn’t bother me. If he doesn’t have facial hair that’s fine with me, and if he does, that’s fine as well.

3. What's the worst vacation you've ever taken?

The worst vacation? I don’t know that I have a bad one. I haven’t been on that many to really say, but a couple summers ago, I went to Myrtle Beach with Love and another couple. The other guy slept in until noon and the rest of us were awake and ready to go by 9am and he was snoozing away.

4. What's the first-ever blog you followed?I don’t know that I could tell you what my first blog I followed was. When I was a young teenager I had a Xanga account and I followed a few friends through that, if that counts.

5. Do you enjoy amusement parks?

I absolutely love amusement parks! I love roller coasters, and it’s kind of a bummer that Love gets motion sickness so easily. Luckily, BFF loves roller coasters as well so her and I can go and have a blast and ride all the rides we want without leaving anyone behind.

Meet Me on Monday

Every Sunday Never Growing Old will post five get to know you questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post and we can all learn a little more about each and every one of us!!

1. Crunchy or smooth peanut butter? Smooth!!

2. What is your favorite color Rose? I love pink roses. They are one of my favorite flowers.

3. Do you remove your shoes when you walk into your home? It depends on the day. After work I do because my work shoes aren’t that comfortable, or if it’s raining I don’t want to track water and dirt into the house.

4. What is your favorite season? Spring, hands down. Usually (not like this year) it’s just the right weather where it’s not too hot and it’s not too cold.

5. Approximately how many hours a day do you spend blogging? At least one everyday, if not more.

Today and Getting to Know You

I'm so glad that this quarter of school is my last. Every one of my classes has group work, and to be honest, I'm not a fan of it. However, the group work takes the place of taking tests, so I can't really complain.

Have you noticed my blog design changing? I found a few websites that create blog layouts, and I like them much better than the ones Blogger lets you customize. I've changed the layout at least once each night, and I will probably keep doing that until I find one that I absolutely love, so bear with me please!

I know this is technically Monday, but I'm going to start something new on Sundays and this is going to be the first week. mannLanD5 does a getting to know you post where you can link up and meet new people through their blogs. So, without further ado, here is my first getting to know you.

1. Have you ever gone to see a movie by yourself? Never. I would feel weird sitting in the theater without someone to talk to or keep me company before the movie started.

2. Would you rather go through a tornado or a hurricane? I would much rather go through a tornado. In our house, our full bath is centrally located and has no windows, and we have a full basement to take cover in.

3. Have you made summer vacation plans? This year I have no summer plans except read a ton of books and work. I think Love and I might plan something, but we haven’t made any real plans.

4. What's your favorite accessory? My favorite accessory would be the necklace I received as part of my anniversary gift last year. It’s beautiful and I wear it every day.

5. Have you ever been thrown a surprise party? I wish. I’ve never had one, and I’ve always wanted one. Of course, I would never say anything, because to me, I shouldn’t have to tell someone to throw me a surprise party.

6. Are you friends with your neighbors? Since we just moved into our house last week, we haven’t really had much time to get to know the neighbors, but from what I can tell, the ones right next door to us are really nice.

7. What's the last movie you saw in the theater? The last movie I saw in theaters was Fast Five on opening weekend. My friend really wanted to go and of course didn’t want to go by herself, so we made it a girl’s night with dinner and a movie.

8. What's your favorite food network show? My favorite food network show would have to be either Iron Chef America, or Chopped. I like competition shows, and both of those are good shows.

Five Question Friday

Five Question Friday is hosted by:

1. Tube socks, calf socks, crew, ankle, none? (From @ThisDaddys_Blog)
Ankle socks! I don’t like them above my ankle unless it’s Winter, and cold outside.

2. Was your child’s (children's) name a mutual decision or was it a debate? If you don't have children, do you plan on giving your spouse a say, or do you have a name you MUST have, regardless if your other half likes it or not?! (From @momtodh)
I currently don’t have any children, nor am I expecting at all, but I think we would decide on names together. I don’t think it’s right that couples have one person that has all the say in the relationship.

3. What is your favorite type of weather? (From @TheSpunkyDiva)
Springtime!! I love weather in the 70s because it’s not too hot, but warm enough I don’t need a jacket or long sleeves.

4. If left to your own devices, what time would you wake up every day? (From Sandy at "Pardon My Dust")
When I sleep in without an alarm, I usually sleep until about 10 am, but I’ve been known to sleep in past noon.

5. Have you bought your cemetery plots yet? (From Pam at "Troop Petrie")
I’m only 25, and I don’t have the money for something that might not happen for quite some time.

Friday Fill-Ins

These fill-ins are provided by Friday Fill-Ins
Sorry this is so late, but as most of you know, Blogger's been down for awhile. So...here we go!

1. I know that I am extremely observant.

2. It would be nice to not have a care in the world, if at all possible.

3. This weather has been great for working outside and helping move things from house to house.

4. My tiredness is a problem.

5. I'm really happy I have the ability to drive well! There are too many people out there that don’t look before they move, or pay more attention to things inside the car versus outside it.
6. I would like the office to cool down a little bit, or something to that effect.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to seeing Bestie, and spending time with Love, tomorrow my plans include sleeping in (!!!), and Sunday, I want to organize the house a little bit more and catch up on homework.

Not So 'Wordless Wednesday'...

This week isn't going to be a Wordless Wednesday. I have a lot going on right now, and the picture that I want to upload I can't access from this computer, and I don't have Internet access to the correct computer. So, yeah. Next week I'll get back to that.

The last few days have been really busy. My parents closed on both houses on Friday. They got the keys for the new house at closing, and that night everyone except me went over there. I had plans with Zach and I was looking forward to them. :) Saturday, my dad volunteered me to help him move all the stuff in the garage and shed. Starting around 8:30 that morning, we were loading both the van and his work truck. Kayla went with us on the first trip to the new house. We went back home, filled both vehicles a second time, and made our next trip. This time everyone else went and stayed at the new house. My dad and I went back to the old house a third time, and got what was left from the shed and garage. Needless to say, I was worn out by this time.

My friend just bought her first house as well. After getting the van unloaded and going back 'home' (old house), I went over to her house. She wants to paint before she moves in, so I helped her tape off all the molding and windows in her two bedrooms to get ready to paint. After visiting with her, I went home, laid on my bed, and didn't move the rest of the night. I was so sore that I could barely move.

Sunday was a good day. It was Mother's Day, as you know, and I went and spent the day at my grandma's with her and my mom and other family. My grandma grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. We all had a good time, and we even got some updated family snapshots, which would have been my wordless wednesday photo.

Monday was a normal day. I worked until 5, then I had class until 8:45. Yesterday was the day they moved everything from old house to new house. I worked and went to class during the day. When I went home, I went to the new house. I helped in the kitchen by removing the rest of the contact paper that was left in the cabinets, after Monica worked on it Saturday. The paper was sticky and gross and I had to use Orange Clean to get the sticky off my hands. Eck! But I was a good little girl and removed the rest of it, and wiped out the cabinets. So we can how put our dishes away when we unpack them. :)

Last night we all went to the old house, because we were handing over the keys to the new owner, and we went inside to see the empty house. It was weird. The last time I saw the house that empty was when we moved in. I walked into my old room, and I was saddened. I liked that room, except it didn't have a closet. I made that into my own space, and everything had a place. The girl that bought the house was very nice and she was so thankful that we took care of the house as much as we did. I know that she will do the same.

Last night was our first night in the new house and it was okay. For me, a few things were similar, so I still kind of felt like we were at the old house. Things will get more comfortable as time goes on, we just have to be patient.

Today is Lucas' birthday, and I'm going to my mom's house tonight to celebrate (kind of). We celebrated it on Sunday, since everyone was together, but I didn't have his birthday present. He'll be getting that tonight.

Five Question Friday

Five Question Friday is hosted by:

1. Have you ever had roommates? The only roommates I’ve ever had were my sisters, but then again, I still live at home. I currently don’t have any “roommates”.

2. How many names do you/your children have? (i.e. Prince Charming William Phillip Arthur Louis John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt) I don’t have any children, but I am catholic. With that being said, I have 4 names: first, middle, confirmation, and last.

3. Did you watch the Royal Wedding? Nope. The TV at work was on CNN that day, so I watched the highlights, but I didn’t see the point of getting up at 5am to watch it live.

4. What is the messiest room in your house? We are moving this weekend, so currently the messiest room in the house is probably the dining room or living room.

5. What is your ideal mother’s day? My ideal mother’s day is just to spend time with my family. I’m very much family oriented, so when special occasions happen, I like to be a part of them.

A Case of the Mondays...

Now that I've had time to cool down, I'm going to rant about my pet peeve that pissed me off this morning:

First off, I work in a credit union in the loan department. It is my job to tell people when they have and haven't been approved for a loan.

This guy applied for a loan about two weeks ago and he was denied. I told him that and he had a fit. Then he called back last week and told me about a couple things that were used to come to this conclusion shouldn't have been used. I asked about my manager about it and he was still going to be denied. He got really pissy with me and said he was going to take his money elsewhere. As I was saying "I'm sorry" after that statement, he hung up on me. Grrr!! And to top it off, I got up late this morning and have been scatterbrained all day. Fantasic. I wish I could go home and sleep until tomorrow.

Welcome to Monday, I guess...
