Liebster Blog

So the other day, my sister nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award.

I have received this award twice here and here, but there are other bloggers I would love to give this award to. :)

According to the rules my sister posted, when you receive this award:
-You post 11 random facts about yourself
-You answer 11 questions from your nominator
-You pass the award onto 11 other blogs with less than 200 followers and ask them 11 questions.
-You are not allowed to nominate the blogger who nominated you.

Eleven random facts about me:
1. My blog name was inspired by something completely unrelated to my upcoming new last name.
2. I may or may not have already listened to some Christmas music.
3. I collect porcelain dolls and keychains.
4. I have no desire to read the 50 Shades series.
5. I've stopped reading from my reading list to read wedding books.
6. I'm currently taking Biotin supplements because I want long hair when I get married.
7. I have a thing for mermaids.
8. I'm obsessed with The Voice.
9. I was born and raised Catholic.
10. I have two siblings that are 4 months apart.
11. I have a major sweet tooth.

Eleven questions from my nominator:
1. What is one sweet treat you don't like?
Jelly beans. Zach loves them and makes fun of me for not liking them.
2. What is your favorite holiday that resides from October through December?
Christmas. I love the time I get to see my family and all the happiness that the season brings. I know working in retail turns people off to this time of year, but I've always loved it. And the gifts are a nice bonus. ;)
3. What is your favorite way to relax?
Stay home in my sweats and watch movies.
4. Do you have a Twitter? I'd love to follow you!
Yes, I do! My Twitter handle is @jjessicarb. You can also click the link on the right side.
5. What is one thing of technology you can't live without?
My cell phone. Even if I didn't have a smartphone I still wouldn't want to be without it.
6. Who is your favorite musical artist?
Currently, my favorite is Carrie Underwood.
7. What is your favorite type of art? (i.e. music, paintings, photography, poetry, etc.)
Photography.
8. What is the weirdest word you can think of?
Doppelganger. This is just a weird word to describe your non-related twin.
9. What was your name going to be if you were the opposite sex than you are?
Andrew, which is my brother's name, since I'm a girl.
10. Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have a cat named Shadow. You can read all about him here.
11. Who is one person you'd switch your life with if you could?
Honestly, I wouldn't switch with anyone. There are some things about my life that I don't really care for, but if it weren't for those things, I wouldn't be who I am today. And I'm happy to be who I am.

My questions for my nominees:
1. Who is your idol and why?
2. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, what is your favorite costume you've ever been?
3. What is your favorite blog post you've ever written? Leave me the link!
4. How did you meet your significant other? Leave me the link if you've blogged about it.
5. What did you want to be when you were little? Did you become that? Why or why not?
6. Are you superstitious?
7. Who is your favorite author and why?
8. Do you have any siblings? Are they full-, half-, or step-siblings?
9. Did you have braces? When and how long did you have them?
10. What is your favorite quote?
11. Are you happy with your life as it is right now?

And now for my nominees:

I know, I know, it's not 11 bloggers, but I follow a lot of blogs that have more than 200 followers.
So check out these lovely ladies and my sister here!

New

If you haven't already noticed, I've changed my header and colors of this place.

Like it?

I also added another "O" to the title. Zach's last name is Moore, and when we get married my last name will be Moore. I'll probably change the header again then and take out the parenthesis, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

So what do you think?

How He Proposed

So now that I have time to write, I'm going to tell you about my proposal story.

Last Sunday was family dinner.
Zach came over early, because he wanted to go thrifting with my brother and I for my brother's costume.
He needed a sport coat, purple t-shirt, and black (or very dark) jeans.

We finished shopping and headed back to the house.
My dad left to go pick up my sister from my mom's house.
After hanging out for a little while, Zach suggested we go on a walk.
I agreed, and since it was really nice out I didn't think anything of it.
We went on about a mile long walk.

Isn't my neighborhood beautiful?

We got back to my house and my dad and sister were back.
Then my siblings and Zach and I started playing HORSE.

And taking silly pictures.
Of course we needed a good picture. :)

Dad was making dinner during all of this.

As we're getting ready to sit down to dinner, I'm still clueless.
We prayed before eating, and after prayer, Zach starts talking.
I was getting my plate ready to eat because I was starving.
At first I think nothing of it. He's talking about how he's a "freaking liberal and a Browns fan".
Yeah, yeah, I know.
He then starts saying something about being added to the family, and I'm thinking, "No. He's joking. This isn't real."
But he continues.
I don't really remember what he continued saying, but he gets off his chair, down on his knee and pulls out a ring and says "Will you allow a freaking liberal and a Browns fan in your family? Will you marry me?"
By this time, I have my hands covering my mouth and I'm in disbelief.
I just stared at him, with a huge smile on my face.
I was so shocked by this, I almost forgot to say yes.
Afterwards, I look around at everyone, and my phone is sitting on the table between me and my sister. I looked at her and said, "Why didn't you grab this (referring to my phone) and start taking pictures?!?"
She took my phone and Zach decided to paraphrase what he said so she could take some pictures.

See the bags under my eyes?

This photo courtesy of my stepmom.
Needless to say, I was no longer hungry.
I ate one hot dog and some veggies.

After dinner, we visited our moms to share the news.
I pretty much had a permasmile the whole night.

It's been a week and I still blush when someone congratulates me, and it's weird to talk about Zach as my fiance.
But you get used to it, right?

Here are some more pictures of my ring.
I LOVE this ring!

I love the design on the sides.

And it's just beautiful.

Already Planning?

So I know I totally went AWOL on the blog after announcing my engagement (!!!!),
but I will be back next week with the story of how Zach proposed.

And hopefully lots of other posts also.

This week was wow.
And time just got away from me.

Lots of telling people.
Some planning already.
(I know, right?)
And Zach is all into planning right now, so I'm not about to stop him.

I, however, am kind of in a predicament.
I can't decide who I want to be my maid of honor.
There are two girlfriends of mine to choose between.

One may not be as reliable if I need her to a quick favor for me, but I've known her longer.
The other may be able to run do that quick errand for me, but she does work retail like me.

I think I know who I want to be my number 1, but how do you tell the other one that I just want her to be a bridesmaid?
If I wasn't such a people pleaser, this would be easy peasy.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Drivers

I want to take a break in my nice posts and rant about drivers lately.

First off, Ohio recently passed a law about texting and driving.
I know it's not really enforced right now, but I cannot stand when I see a driver texting.
Seriously?
If it's really that important that it can't wait, just call that person.

Tailgaters are the worst.
I'll be sitting at a red light, and someone comes flying up the road at me and I think they're going to hit me.
Nope. They stop just in time, but then they tailgate me until I turn, or they turn.
I get made fun of by people who ride with me for leaving such a big gap between me and the car in front of me, but this is exactly why. If someone rear ends me I don't want to rear end someone else because someone else's stupidity.
Know what I mean?

Then there's I-75, or really any highway for that matter.
The right lane is the slow lane!
If you are going the speed limit or slower, stay there.
The far left lane should be for passing only. Just my opinion.

There are a few highways in the area that are terrible in weather, and before I learned the side streets, I had to drive those highways to work and school and I can't help but think I'm a better driver because of these highways.

Okay, I think I'm done ranting.

On another note, my sister has been practicing a permit test to get her temporary license.
How would you do if took the test today?
Click here for the practice test she's been taking.

I might be back later to blog about another one of the 30 things. :)

Weekend Recap

So this weekend contained a little bit of everything.
Be prepared for lots of photos.

Friday, as I mentioned in my last post, Zach and I went to Foy's.
Which one is your favorite?
{See last post if you don't know what I'm talking about.}

Saturday I got up early and went to Piqua High School for my brother's cross country meet.
This little girl was swinging the rope. She was so cute.

Lucas coming up to the end.

Here he comes!
I think his time was 21:48 for 3 miles.
He said it was his 3rd best time.

After the meet, I went over to my mom's house and hung out for a little while.
Sister and I tried to take funny pictures.
Aren't we cute?
This one didn't go so well.
Sunday I got up at 6:30 am to make dinner.
I know, crazy, right?
Too early!!

Potatoes and carrots

That is a lot of fat!

Mmm! Pot Roast!
It was quite delicious tonight.

After going back to bed and waking up at 11:30, I made a recipe I got from Becky.
See dinner cooking in the background?

Cooling

Icing that I made for the bars

I couldn't wait to eat it.

It was sooo good!
If you want the recipe, click here!

How was your weekend?

I Need Opinions, Please!

This is going to be a quick post, but I need your opinions.

This past Friday, Zach and I went to Foy's Halloween Store.
We are going to a Halloween festival at the end of the month, and we each are going to wear a mask.
Zach bought his, but I found 5 that I liked so I didn't buy one.

This is where you come in.
I had Zach take pictures of each mask on my face so that I could post them and get your thoughts.

I have my favorite, but I want to know what you think.

P.S. This is my 200th post!! Eeep!!

Random Links

I don't have much to say today, but I want to share a couple of links.

I found this recipe and I plan on trying it tomorrow.

I'm so excited for this album!!
{2 more weeks!}

I can't wait for these guys to kick some butt tomorrow.

I hope your weekend is going well!
