Until then...

Looking back on my blog, I haven't consistently blogged in a long time. For this year alone, I've posted a total of 9 times, not including this post, and the last time was in August, with each post being an update post. While I love keeping track of what I've been up to, I don't enjoy that I've recapped months at a time in each post. I want to get into the swing of posting regularly again, but I'm not sure when that will be.

So much has been going on in life that blogging has taken a serious back seat. While I know I have those few loyal readers, I don't think my absence from the blogging world has been a big thing, which I'm okay with.

I've done a lot of thinking about this little blog and I've come to a solution:

I'm going to stop posting.

I love this blog and I don't want to lose anything I've gained from it, whether it be memories or friendships, but I don't have the proper time or plan to maintain this blog like it should be. My ultimate goal is to come back to blogging with goals and a plan on how to keep it going well for a long time. I just don't know when.

While I figure out my blogging plans, I will still post on Twitter and Instagram and you can always keep up and connect with me that way.

Until then...

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was so much fun! I love that it’s considered the unofficial start to summer because I spent a lot of time in the sun and outdoors.

Saturday was my family’s annual golf outing. Every year my extended family gets together and we golf along Grand Lake St. Marys. It was a beautiful day and we even got a few sprinkles that kept us cool.

After the outing we all go to a local park and have food and hang out and even get prizes based on our golfing abilities. This year Zach, my sisters and I were in one car and we didn’t stay very long after the prizes because we were exhausted.

Sunday Zach and I went to a metropark nearby and hiked some of the trails with a friend and her two little girls. I didn’t keep track of how much we walked, but it was really nice to get out and walk through nature. While we were out a quick rain shower passed by and it rained for about 5 minutes while we were walking, but the leaves of the trees kept us dry for the most part. I was waiting for a rainbow to appear because the sun stayed out while it rained those few minutes, but I never saw one.

Sunday night Zach and I went to another friend’s house and played the Ghostbusters board game. It was actually really fun. I played Harold Ramis’ character, Dr. Egon Spengler. The object of the game is to close the ghost portals before the ghost world runs out of ghosts. There are a bunch of different scenarios to play, so you’re not repeating the same thing over and over.

Monday was a relaxing day for the most part, and then my siblings came over to swim in our apartment pool. There were a lot of people at the pool, as expected, but we were still able to move around the pool and keep cool.

All in all it was a great way to start summer.

Overdue Update

It's been a hot second since I blogged about anything worthwhile.

Here's what I've been up to in the last couple of months:
1. We celebrated Zach's birthday, and I gave myself a nice little cut on my finger when slicing cucumbers. Liquid Bandaid became my friend for a few days.

2. We celebrated our friend's birthday a few days after Zach's.
3. We celebrated Easter with family and all the little ones had an Easter egg hunt.
4. We celebrated my 30th birthday.
5. We went to an art showing for our friend at a local coffee shop.
6. We had a date night and went to Columbus to see Amy Vachal, from season 9 of The Voice.
7. We broke out of the Museum Heist situation.
8. I went to Fort Wayne, IN with a friend for the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale. We went up the day before because our session started at 7:30am.
We went here for dinner the night before and it was a neat place, but their outside hours were spelled wrong! Once I found it before our pizza arrived, I couldn't stop staring at it.
9. I celebrated my friend's dad's 50th birthday.
10. We saw the Blue Man Group when they came to town.
11. We celebrated Mother's Day and my brother's birthday with family.
12. I went to a paint and wine Prince tribute night with a friend.
13. We spent time with family and friends and played fun board games.

A Minor Update and Changes

It's been too long since I last posted.

But that's okay.

A lot has been going on in the last two months. I've been working on a long update post, but I don't know when it will be up.

However, I have been thinking about this blog. I've had this blog for 5 years, but I'm thinking it's time for some serious changes. I'm not exactly sure of what I want to change, but I'll keep you posted.

Until then...

Five on Friday

I'm so glad it's finally Friday! The weekend is almost here, even if I do have to work tomorrow.
Today I'm linking up with Liz for 5 on Friday.

One: Four weeks from tomorrow I'm celebrating my 30th birthday! While Zach and I were out and about last night we went to Target and they had some of their party supplies on clearance. I got some cute plates and gold tablecloths for my party and some other decorations to match my theme.

Two: My friend Ted started working at the same company I work at this week and I'm so excited for him. He worked at his last job for over 12 years and was well overdue to get out of there. I'm really excited he was able to get hired on at my company, and potentially have a career instead of a job.

Three: The weather next week is supposed to be in the 60's and near 70. I'm really hoping it sticks around, but living in Ohio I never expect the weather to stay the same for long, especially in March.

Four: I'm obsessed with Sinful Colors SinfulShine nail polish. It's their gel nail polish and they have so many neat colors. I have about 7 different colors, but there are more that I want. I feel like this polish lasts better than the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. And it's cheaper than most others.

Five: I've been trying to get back into blogging more regularly. I'm working on a new design for this place and I have so many post ideas I want to do in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

Busy Weekends

Sometimes the busy weekends are more fun than the laid back weekends.
Each day this weekend had something going on.
Friday, after getting off at 5, I met up with our friends Ted and Bridgette at the mall and tried this new gourmet hot dog place.

It was delicious! I just got a basic hot dog with cheese, but they have a mac and cheese one I want to try.
Afterwards we went back to our apartment. Zach and I had planned to rearrange our living room on Saturday, but Ted, Bridgette and I were pretty energized and decided to move everything Friday night.
Of course, I didn't get any before pictures. Before we moved everything, most of the furniture was situated on one end of the room and kind of cramped. Now, we switched the direction of the room and it's so much more roomier and bright! We still have some things to hang on the walls, but I love how it looks now.

Saturday was pretty laid back until the evening. Zach got us tickets to Wright State's Rowdy Gras. We had never been before so I was interested in seeing what it was all about.
We walked in and there were purple, green, and yellow balloons everywhere. Around the room were a lot of gambling tables, and there was a dance floor and a prize table.
During check-in we each received $25,000 in Rowdy Bucks and two drink tickets. After filling up on cheese cubes, mac and cheese bites, chicken wings, and King cake, we made our way around the room. Zach gambled all his money away, but I suck at gambling so I held on to my money for the prize table.
We danced and during most songs they were giving away poker chips to those dancing. At the end of the night any money we had left over we traded in for raffle tickets for the prize table. I ended up with 9 tickets and I split them between 3 different prizes, but I didn't win any of them.

Sunday was another laid back day. Fuller House came out on Netflix on Friday so I watched the whole season. Sunday night I went over to my brother's and sister's apartment and we hung out, ate pizza and played a game.

It was a nice relaxing way to end the weekend. Especially when it's now overtime week and I work this Saturday.

Indianapolis

Erin shared this post on Twitter last week, and Amanda really hit the nail on the head with how my blogging has been. I mean, this post should have been posted two weeks ago. Anyway, moving on.

***

Two weeks ago I had one of the most spontaneous weekends I’ve had in a looong time!

Saturday night around 11, my friend Bridgette called me and asked if I wanted to go on an adventure to Indianapolis. We didn’t have to work Sunday and I didn’t have any real plans that day, so I said of course!
Her and our friend Ted showed up at our apartment around 11:30 that night, we got some things ready and left around midnight. Zach originally wasn’t going to join us because he was scheduled to work Sunday, but he moved some things around and got to come with us!
Ready for adventure! Can you guess which one is mine?
After stopping at Bridgette’s house, we made our way to Indianapolis.
We ended up getting there around 2:30am and went to some 24 hour stores to waste time until more things opened. At 5:30 one of the Starbucks opened so we went there and got coffee and hung out for awhile. We wanted to see the sunrise, but it was too cloudy to see anything.

As things started opening up, we went to the Indianapolis Speedway Museum, the Circle Centre Mall in Downtown Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Art Museum, and various other places.
It was a such a fun and full day of exploring and going with the flow.

The books were right inside the main entrance of the Indianapolis Art Museum.
I took the others inside the museum of the outside art, since it was freezing outside.

After exploring Indianapolis and using every last bit of our energy, we made our way home.

It was such great trip. We may have been a little tired due to lack of sleep, but we made the best of it.
